Artist's Statement: This print of the west side landmark, the Thunderbird, was done from an original pastel.
Artist's Bio: Since moving to El Paso from Iowa in 1999, Candy has embraced the culture and creates landscapes and still lifes of the Borderland in pastels, acrylics, pen & ink, and mixed media collage. She is known for her scenes of El Paso and Dia de Los Muertos works, both of which she is incorporated in her “Loteria” games.
She has donated to Border Issues, worked for Casas por Cristo, and volunteered to help the refugee program through Annunciation House.
Her work is available at the Marketplace, 5034 Doniphan's, and many area art shows and fairs and gift shops, as well as from her home studio.
