A Conversation with Rev. CHristina Rathbone about her time here on the border

Episcopal priest Christina Rathbone came to El Paso in 2019 and spent several months literally on the downtown bridge, walking with migrants as they made their way to request asylum. She worked with volunteers from around El Paso to provide clothing and food as asylum seekers waited their turn to cross, living in makeshift tents at the foot of the bridge.

Rev. Christina has written a book about her time here on the border called The Asylum Seekers: Life, Death and Community on the Border. In it she beautifully recounts her time with the migrants she met. And in this video conversation with Canon Lee Curtis, you'll get an idea of how her work and experience is so very rooted in Jesus' call to serve the poor, the stranger and our neighbors with love.
