Artist Bio: Suzanne Hesh has a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. She has exhibited her art across the US and in Canada and Mexico for the past 25 years.

Suzanne has been involved in border issues and immigrant rights for over a decade. She publishes a newsletter about immigration that is read by clergy, academics, and activists in the US and Europe.

The work in Canvas of Hope is part of a body of work titled "The Psalms," created between 1997- 2007. All 150 psalms were in the Book of Psalms of the Hebrew Bible were interpreted in a 6"' x 6" format, of mixed textile techniques or acrylic paint.

Artist Statement: "My art expresses 'big ideas:' psychological, social, political or spiritual themes that have personal meaning and universal application. I use ideas that have the potential to change or challenge an outlook or attitude; events that alter the relationship of people to each other or to the Creator; shifts in my understanding of the deep and complex nature of the human experience, any human experience that calls for an expressed response."
