RGBM Annual Convention Report: The Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande

Last week’s annual convention for the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande included an annual report from Rio Grande Borderland Ministries from members of our RGBM Development Team. To learn about the impact of RGBM over the last year and the future plans of the ministry, please watch the video.

We hope you had the chance to watch the video announcing our parish partnership program! We look forward to walking alongside you as you discern your call to welcome the stranger and support the work of RGBM. Questions? EMM Welcome with Dignity Advocacy Days

This is an invitation from Welcome with Dignity, an advocacy coalition of which The Episcopal Church is a member, to join in Virtual Advocacy Days to end Title 42.

We invite you to take action to stop the human rights abuses at the U.S.- Mexico border and to hold the Biden administration accountable for its promise to restore access to asylum for people fleeing persecution.

REGISTER FOR WELCOME WITH DIGNITY VIRTUAL ADVOCACY DAYS

The #WelcomeWithDignity campaign is organizing virtual advocacy days from November 17th to 19th, 2021, to coincide with our week of action. We will urge Congress to insist that the Biden administration reasserts the U.S.'s commitment to protecting people seeking asylum during the Advocacy Days. In addition, we're asking Congress to demand that the Biden administration end policies such as Title 42 that have resulted in hundreds of thousands of inhumane expulsions of people who are fleeing danger and seeking protection, with no due process.

Now is a critical moment to lift your voice to stop expelling people seeking safety from persecution back to life-threatening dangers in Mexico, Haiti, and other countries.

RGBM Cycle of Prayer

Prayer for RGBM

O God, Creator of all people,

help us to travel through the barren borderlands

that separate us from others.

Teach us to willingly explore relationships with people

as we offer a compassionate response to those who cross our paths around our borders.

Open our hearts to new companion’s needs so that

everyone eats,

everyone is clothed,

everyone has a safe and healthy habitat and

everyone knows they are loved by You, O  Lord,

through our actions and struggles for justice and peace.

Grant us the vision to notice how each step we take together

moves us closer to the promised land

where all souls grow in hope and love.

Let us go forth this day

In harmony with You,

Compassion in our hearts

Gratitude in our thoughts

Generosity in our deeds

Justice as our passion

Let us go forth

carrying God’s image

Into our hurting world along our border

With the Rio Grande Borderland Ministries.

AMEN+
